MEET DA DOOX

  • Natalie Bassini

    New York, NY | Hopper 2027 | she/her

Natalie wants to major in Cognitive Science, but that plan might not last long. She likes to go around to New Haven cafés with her suitemate Karla and find the best study spots. So far her favorite is Tous les Jours, since the Pistachio Cafe is very aesthetic but she has not gotten any work done there. She also thinks that Koffee? is overrated... don't hate her. Natalie is in the Yale Glee Club which means she is constantly singing under her breath. Since joining Doox, her singing has devolved from songs with lyrics to a variety of "doo dah ve dah," much to her friends' dismay.

Fun Fact: Natalie can wiggle her ears, but don't ask her to.

Favorite Doox Memory: Meeting all the (intimidatingly talented) Doox alumni and singing with them at Mory's and the Elm City Club!

Recent Songs on Repeat: A Night to Remember by beabadoobee and Laufey, Lovely Day by Bill Withers, anything by Reneé Rapp, and Me and Mrs. Jones by Billy Paul

  • Dayne Bolding

    Northfield, VT | Silliman 2027 | he/him

Dayne is majoring in an aspect of biology still unknown to himself (did you know there are 5 bio majors??) On campus, he enjoys writing silly little things for the The Yale Herald and can be found frequenting the Willoughby's on the corner of Grove and Church and office hours in WLH. Dayne loves Vermont, even during the season of the sticks, and enjoys skiing, hiking, and being outside with friends. He also know nearly every Schoolhouse Rock! song by heart and can/will fall asleep in any moving vehicle.

Fun Fact: Dayne can backflip off a diving board (it's real ugly, but he can).

Favorite Doox Memory: Singing at the breakfast table while making pancakes during tap retreat.

Recent Songs on Repeat: "A Place in the Sun" Jake Shimabukuro (Feat. Jack Johnson & Paula Fuga), "Fiddler's Green" - The Tragically Hip, "San Luis" - Gregory Alan Isakov

  • Krishna Davis

    Chicago, IL | Hopper 2025 | he/him

Krishna is a Political Science major who probably does not actually want to go into politics (but enjoys talking about it sometimes and is really into public policy stuff and thinks watching C-SPAN is kinda fun sometimes). He is a huge fan of the honey lavender latte at Poindexter (the cute little cafe in the Graduate Hotel) and went there to study (wink) an embarrassing number of times last spring. When he's not snapping and singing doos and dahs with Doox, he enjoys writing for campus publications (doing more of this is a major goal for this year, let's keep him accountable), working with New Haven public high school students through Citizens Thinkers Writers, and taking photos of Yale buildings that he already has many photos of (when the light is good, it's irresistible).

Fun Fact: Krishna is an aspiring latte artist (emphasis on aspiring)!

Favorite Doox Memory: I was so incredibly proud to be a Doox when we sang at the Ruby Sessions in Dublin.

Recent Songs on Repeat: Mess by Noah Kahan, I'm Just Ken (we all know who sings that), Buzz Me In by Remi Wolf, Smoothie Song by Nickel Creek, Saturday by Couch

  • Caroline Fai

    Newton, MA | Saybrook 2025 | she/her

Caroline is studying Cognitive Science and Data Science, but is, as Daniel likes to say, "a closeted Humanities major." Sometimes she's singing Tenor 1.5 for Doox -- other times, she's working with mice in a Psychiatry lab, tutoring with Urban Improvement Corps, writing poetry with Jooksongs, or organizing events with the Chinese American Students Association. If hedgehogs were reptiles, her favorite reptile would be a hedgehog. She gets frustrated by exceptions in English and sometimes creates her own conjugation systems to remedy these frustrations. One hope she has for the world is the creation of more sub-200-page books. She also plans on someday petitioning for more than 24 hours in a day, even though that would not be scientifically reasonable.

Fun Fact: She has read 52% of the 340 books in her room, but didn't make it past the first chapter of the first Harry Potter book.

Favorite Doox Memory: Tapping last year's babies! I cannot wait to reproduce again (or would it be re-reproduce).

Recent Songs on Repeat: Hat Shaped Hat by Ani DiFranco, MARO's entire hortelã album, Nan Fon Bwa by Leyla McCalla, and Pterodactyl by Bendigo Fletcher

  • Jason Han

    Birmingham, AL | Murray 2025 | he/him

Jason is a junior studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). In addition to singing as a Bass in Doox, Jason is also part of the Yale Undergraduate Aerospace Administration’s CubeSat Project Team. On weekends, he likes to visit City Climb Gym or get a bite to eat at Haven Hot Chicken or Pokemoto. Recently, Jason has developed a hobby of losing money at the Yale Poker Club (but hopefully he’s improving right?). One tradition that’s dear to Jason’s heart is Pump It Up Wednesdays. His goals after college include eating great food, getting a cat, and buying his very own Pump It Up machine. If you like losing, you can challenge Jason to a chess match on chess.com (http://chess.com) or try and beat him at speed mental math.

Fun Fact: Jason loves debating hot takes, arguing, other competitive activities.

Favorite Doox Memory: Tap Night Last Year, just awesome getting to finally celebrate all our hard work and get to meet/interact with all our new members.

Recent Songs on Repeat: I'm Just Ken, What Was I Made For

  • Hope Keithahn

    Columbia, MO | Berkeley 2025 | she/her

Hope is a History of Art major with a certificate in Energy Studies because she wanted to use the credits after she did a big 360 from being an Environmental Studies major. At Yale, she loves sings Tenor 1 in Doox, but also enjoys her jobs working and interning at the Yale University Art Gallery and Yale Center for British Art. Yeah, she just likes art. She loves spending money on decorating her room and buying jewelry, and eats too often at Sherkaan and House of Naan. Originally an avid cello player for 18 years, she now focuses on vocal stuff and likes to sing exclusively opera and Doox music. You should ask her about her gap year!

Fun Fact: The first time Hope drove alone in a big city (she' from Missouri) was in the underground tunnels around the Boston Logan Airpoirt when she was 17 during rush hour. Tears were shed.

Favorite Doox Memory: Secret Santa is always a fun time, but most of my fav doox memories are outside of Doox things. Just love spending time with Doox in any way shape or form.

Recent Songs on Repeat: Blue by Anilee List, Lose Control by Teddy Swims, and Goth by Sidewalks and Skeletons

  • Salma Laraki

    BUSINESS MANAGER

    Huntington, NY | Pierson 2026 | she/her

Salma is majoring in the History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health but if you want to avoid the mouthful- you can just say she’s pre-med. If you spot Salma out and about in New Haven she’ll probably be on her way to Walgreens, because there’s nothing better than 24hr access to Chex Mix and Arizona iced tea. What’s that? She’s on the other side of town? Then she’s probably going to Whitney Avenue, her favorite street in the city, or even more likely headed to the Bowtie, taking unprecedented advantage of half-off movie Tuesdays! Huh? Now she’s wandering around seemingly aimlessly? She’s trying to get a New Haven squirrel™️ to come to her. Get her back to Samantha, please.

Fun Fact: ex horse girl (like… intensely)

Favorite Doox Memory: Ruby Sessions in Dublin! Then crying because oh my god I just did Ruby Sessions in Dublin.

Recent Songs on Repeat: Anything off of Cillian Murphy’s BBC Mixtape (I <3 Cillian Murphy)

  • Jacob Lebroda

    Derry, NH | Stiles 2027 | he/him

Many think he's hyper. Some think he's funny. He thinks he's a comedian. But since Yale currently doesn't offer a Humor Studies major, this bundle of energy is studying Cognitive Science in hopes of becoming a finance bro when he grows up. Aside from singing Baritone for Da Doox, you may spot Jacob making social media content for the Yale Entrepreneurial Society, playing trombone with the Yale Jazz Ensemble, quoting that one scene from the first Harry Potter movie (NAUR RON NAUR), taking constant photos because the background is "aesthetic," or comparing New Haven and New Hampshire fall foliage (the real NH takes the cake). His other hobbies include constant talking AND excessive riffing, because what fun is life if you're just constantly talking? In the future, Jacob hopes to learn how to master the art of seriousness.

Fun Fact: Jacob used to have an alter ego named Mark Inaster.

Favorite Doox Memory: Sitting by the fire and playing the game, "when you know the words to the song, sing along, sing along" on Tap Night!

Recent Songs on Repeat: Triste by Joan Chamorro & La Màgia de la Veu, the entire Midnights album by Taylor Swift, Slow Dance by JOSEPH, Lacy by Olivia Rodrigo

  • Peighton Lotwis

    MUSICAL DIRECTOR

    Baldwin, NY | Hopper 2026 | she/her

Peighton a Tenor 1 from New York majoring in Ethics, Politics, and Economics (EP&E). She is an all-around music lover, singing with the Yale Glee Club, Operatic Theater of Yale College, and Yale Chamber Singers when she is not pitching for Da Doox. In her free time, you can find her connecting to nature, strolling through local parks and reserves, or perhaps, taking her hand at gardening. She also enjoys a good pair of earrings or funky socks (because good things come in pairs, and on occasion, triumvirates.)

Fun Fact: After a lifetime of giving her friends free haircuts, last August, Peighton found out that her great great grandmother's maiden name was Barbiere, meaning "Barber" in Italian.

Favorite Doox Memory: Exploring beautiful riverside cities in Ireland while on tour with Doox last summer (where she and her groupmates also famously befriended a goat named Joni.

Recent Songs on Repeat: Shine by Cleo Sol, Through it All by Lady Wray, and Masterpiece by SAULT

  • Anika Mohapatra

    Bangalore, India | Murray 2027 | she/her

Anika is a first year who oscillates between saying her major is Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Neuroscience every two days. When she's not singing Tenor 1 in Doox, she's sketching out on cross campus, or crocheting in the Beanjamin, or curled up with a good (heart-wrenching, soul crushing) book in silent company of her friends. If you've ever seen her walking around campus and waved and had her not wave back, remember that she's a little unobservant and it's actually near impossible to catch her attention unless you're two feet away from her. Anika's favorite reptiles are dragons (duh) and you can probably tell she was obsessed with cryptids and mythological beasts as a kid.

Fun Fact: Anika doesn't have a driving license (and not just because she's currently in a country where you drive on the wrong side of the road).

Favorite Doox Memory: Being at the 70th Doox reunion was life changing (especially seeing Helplessness Blues).

Recent Songs on Repeat: Falling Behind- Laufey, Get Used to It- Ricky Montgomery, Seaforth- King Krule

  • Quincy Rosenzweig

    BUSINESS MANAGER

    Palo Alto, CA | Morse 2026 | he/him

Quincy is indecisive to a fault. His major? …unsure. His favorite song? Too many to pick! But at least he knows what he’s doing on Thursday at 5:40pm. A gcal enthusiast and lover of spreadsheets, when not singing baritone for Doox, Quincy spends his time rock climbing and locked away in the private rooms in the Bass lower level (yes, that’s his favorite place to work). While waiting for the casting director to read his Survivor application, Quincy has led a number of Survivor games, an Amazing Race, and lots of puzzle hunts. Have a logic puzzle? Send it to him and you’ll be his new favorite person. Oh and if you mention theatre to him, be warned, you’ll never hear the end of it.

Fun Fact: Quincy can ride the unicycle and juggle, but not at the same time (yet).

Favorite Doox Memory: Karaoke in Dublin!! Met some awesome people and left with a bucket load of hilarious memories.

Recent Songs on Repeat: Pancakes for Dinner by Lizzy McAlpine and Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae

  • Andrew Xu

    Cheshire, CT | Saybrook 2027 | he/him

Andrew is considering double majoring in Mathematics and Ethics, Politics, and Economics, but probably won't do both. Outside of singing bass for Doox, he also sings with the Yale Glee Club (as a T2), writes for the Yale Politic, is in the Yale Democrats, tutors for MathCounts, and does research at a biostatistics lab. Andrew likes to imagine that he goes to the gym and reads in his free time, but free time is a very foreign concept for him. On the off chance that he isn't doing homework or some other work he made up for himself, you can probably find Andrew playing ping pong in the Underbrook, watching YouTube, or eating ramen. He loves ramen.

Fun Fact: Before Yale, the last math class Andrew took was in middle school.

Favorite Doox Memory: Meeting and singing with so many talented alumni at the 70th reunion.

Recent Songs on Repeat: This is what autumn feels like by JVKE, Yes I’m Changing by Tame Impala, Brooklyn Baby by Lana Del Ray, The Color Violet by Tory Lanez

  • Daniel Zhang

    Edison, NJ | Branford 2026 | he/him

Daniel is a Humanities major who’s like someone who can't get over their study abroad program, but instead of the south of France, it's Directed Studies: take me back! When not singing baritone for Doox, he leads tours at the Yale University Art Gallery (his tour theme is "Looking," which is a little confusing now that he thinks about it, because what else are you supposed to do with the art?) and edits for the Yale Literary Magazine. He has strong opinions on the profiles of different New Haven cafes—a few are that Book Trader is for locking in, Atticus is for interventions when your room has fallen apart, and G Cafe Chapel Street is for psychopaths.

Fun Fact: Daniel's favorite Ghibli movie is Only Yesterday and he's not just saying that to be edgy. A close second is Kiki's Delivery Service.

Favorite Doox Memory: Trivia at Gather cafe—one of many serendipitous Doox hangs!

Recent Songs on Repeat: Next of Kin by Alvvays, Jonathan by Adrianne Lenker & Buck Meek, STATS by Baby Keem

  • Charlie Karner

    Elgin, IL | Morse 2025 | he/him

Charlie is a Music + Theater, Dance & Performance Studies double major. He is excited to share his own creations / creative collaborations (music, art, all of the above?) in the future; Charlie is studying abroad for the fall semester in Milan, Italy with a focus on guitar, music production, and vocal performance. So much music! Like A Cappella. Fun fact: Charlie is in Doox. Charlie loves his dog Murphy very much and if he was on campus for the #RUSHDOOX2023 process, you'd probably hear him talk about this. Charlie loves drinking iced coffee, attending live concerts & festivals, writing out his thoughts, sitting in the sun, sharing space with friends, and playing music on a speaker during daily activities. #ThanksForReading.

Fun Fact: Charlie enjoys laying on the ground outside.

Favorite Doox Memory: Sitting around a fire together on our Missouri tour, eating a homemade (DooxMade? We’ll workshop it.) meal on our Colorado Tour, or walking through a few Doox’s hometowns on our Boston tour. #Variety!

Recent Music on Repeat: JAGUAR by Victoria Monét, COLORWAY by Destin Conrad, Red Moon in Venus by Kali Uchis, tori by Tori Kelly, and Marigold by Alex Isley & Jack Dine.

  • Albert Gang

    Irvine, CA | Hopper 2024 | he/him

Albert is a chemistry and music major who after graduation might do chemistry or music or both or neither! Who knows. When he's not singing in Doox, Albert plays violin in YSO and does chemistry research on carbon dioxide reduction. And if you don't find him doing any of those, he might be eating at House of Naan or Mecha.

Fun Fact: Albert occasionally pours the milk before the cereal.

Favorite Doox Memory: Impromptu brunches / fvfs!!!!

Recent Songs on Repeat: Rina Sawayama, NewJeans, Fleet foxes

  • Ethan Kopf

    Newton, MA | Pierson 2024 + 1 | he/him

Ethan has seriously considered learning a British accent to allow him to audition for the Great British Bake Off (he's still waiting to hear back from Survivor and the Amazing Race). On paper, Ethan is a computer science major, but he's spiritually a linguistics major, and he works in the Yale Grammatical Diversity Project lab. He has attachment issues with his Pierson Nalgene.

Fun Fact: Spicy food gives Ethan the hiccups.

Favorite Doox Memory: Performing at a bar on the bank of a river.

Recent Songs on Repeat: Head On by José Gonzalez, Texas Sun by Khruangbin, Call Me When You Land by Old Sea Brigade

  • Clay Jamieson

    Severna Park, MD | Hopper 24 + 1 | he/him

In the school year, Clay is a History student at Yale, but in the summer he works as a wildland firefighter in eastern Oregon and forgets everything he's learned thanks to excessive smoke inhalation. When Clay's not singing with Doox, he's drinking with Doox. On the off-chance he's not even doing that, Clay can be found going on runs to East Rock, playing the piano in the Grace Hopper common room, and helping develop the character of young men in his fraternity. Along with fellow 'Whiffendoox' Ethan and Gabby, Clay will be taking the 2023-2024 academic year off to sing with the Yale Whiffenpoofs.

Fun Fact: Clay is perhaps the most dangerous chainsaw operator on his entire fire district, and not in a good way!

Favorite Doox Memory: Climbing up to a rooftop in Manhattan at an afterparty with the active group and alumni after all singing together for the first time out of COVID for a fancy NYC gig.

Recent Songs on Repeat: New York by The Kills; Don't Think Twice, It's All Right by Bob Dylan; "Tristan und Isolde - Concert Version: Liebestod" by Richard Wagner, performed by the Berliner Philharmoniker, conducted by Karajan

  • Gabby Montuori

    Dorchester, SC | TD 2024 + 1 | he/they

Gabby is a baritone/bass who just finished his junior year majoring in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. He is taking a gap year to sing with the Yale Whiffenpoofs! When they aren’t singing acappella, Gabby works a number of campus jobs, writes music, and cooks meals for their friends! In their years of experience cheffing it up, they’ve realized there are some ingredients you can’t go overdo—olive oil, cheese, mustard, Nutella, extra creamy Reddi Whip, the chocolatey ends of Drumstick frozen ice cream cones—to name a few. You can currently find Gabby in your local Lowe’s browsing the chandelier section as they struggle to figure out their gender. (He’s taking suggestions!)

Fun Fact: Gabby has a scar on his forehead from falling down the stairs as a toddler!

Favorite Doox Memory: Singing at The Ruby Sessions during Ireland tour last summer! It was fun to wear a really cute outfit and solo on a song I love for such an energetic crowd!

Recent Songs on Repeat: WELLLL by Jacob Collier, Older by Searows, Sometimes by Trousdale
