MEET DA DOOX

Natalie Bassini
New York, NY | Hopper '27 | she/her
Natalie is a double major in Cognitive Science and Music… for now. You can usually find her at Commons eating the most recent iteration of pasta. In her rare free time (as a professional procrastinator), she explores New Haven cafés with her suitemate, Karla. They hope to one day find The Ultimate Study Spot. So far her favorites are MOTW and Tous les Jours, since the Pistachio Cafe is very aesthetic but she’s not gotten any work done there. She also thinks that Koffee? is way overrated. Don't hate her. Natalie can also wiggle her ears and make it look like half of her thumb was chopped off.
Fun Fact: Natalie knows a concerning amount of trivia about The Office
Favorite Doox Memory: Meeting all the (intimidatingly talented) Doox alumni and singing with them at Mory's and the Elm City Club!
Recent Songs on Repeat: YA YA by Beyoncé, Red Wine Supernova by Chappell Roan, Reneé Rapp’s entire career, Guy I Used to Be by Lawrence. Her Spotify wrapped, however, will include the Pup Pup Boogie from Paw Patrol and Skibidi Toilet (see summer activities for context).
This Summer: Natalie spent virtually every hour of every day as the music specialist of Sunrise Day Camp. She chased after many a first-grader and dealt with several bodily fluids on the daily four-hour bus rides. The more glamorous parts of the job included teaching kids how to play their favorite instruments, running camp-wide karaoke sessions, and getting ice cream each day. She will never say no to a sweet treat.

Dayne Bolding
Northfield, VT | Silliman '27 | he/him
BUSINESS MANAGER
Dayne likes sudoku, spider plants, national parks and maple creemees. He dislikes mountain biking and having cold hands and has mixed feelings about Ken Burns. On campus, he enjoys writing silly little things for The Herald and planning thrift trips with RSAY. In the great big city of New Haven, Dayne can be found in the Silliman Acorn crying over his Chinese homework and/or frequenting the Willoughby's on the corner of Grove and Church (the correct one, plz be so ffr). He also knows nearly every Schoolhouse Rock! song by heart and can fall asleep in any moving vehicle.
Fun Fact: His favorite animal is a moose even though he is kinda scared of them.
Favorite Doox Memory: Singing at the breakfast table while making pancakes during tap retreat.
Recent Songs on Repeat: "A Place in the Sun" Jake Shimabukuro (Feat. Jack Johnson & Paula Fuga), "Fiddler's Green" - The Tragically Hip, "San Luis" - Gregory Alan Isakov
This Summer: Dayne worked as a Natural Resource Instructor at Green Mountain Conservation Camp educating Vermont youth on hunter safety and firearm education. His days were full of hikes around Buck Lake, long canoe trips, skeet shooting and, of course, being outside.

Salma Laraki
Huntington, NY | Pierson '26 | she/her
Salma is majoring in the History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health but if you want to avoid the mouthful- you can just say she’s pre-med. If you spot Salma out and about in New Haven she’ll probably be on her way to Walgreens, because there’s nothing better than 24hr access to Chex Mix and Arizona iced tea. What’s that? She’s on the other side of town? Then she’s probably going to Whitney Avenue, her favorite street in the city, or even more likely headed to the Bowtie, taking unprecedented advantage of half-off movie Tuesdays! Huh? Now she’s wandering around seemingly aimlessly? She’s trying to get a New Haven squirrel™️ to come to her. Get her back to Samantha, please.
Fun Fact: ex horse girl (like… intensely)
Favorite Doox Memory: Ruby Sessions in Dublin! Then crying because oh my god I just did Ruby Sessions in Dublin.
Recent Songs on Repeat: Long Long Time - Linda Ronstadt, Alaska - Maggie Rogers, Sandcastles - Beyoncé
This Summer: Salma was doing microbiology research at the Yale Cancer Biology Institute. 'Tis the life of a premed.

Jacob Lebroda
Derry, NH | Stiles '27 | he/him
MUSICAL DIRECTOR
Jacob is a self proclaimed comedian. He has yet to find someone who appreciates his jokes as much as he does. But since Yale currently doesn't offer a Humor Studies major, this bundle of energy is studying Cognitive Science in hopes of becoming a finance bro when he grows up. Aside from singing Baritone for Da Doox, you may spot Jacob enjoying dinner with his fellow Stilesians (ALWAYS at the first circular table!), leading events for the Yale Entrepreneurial Society, playing trombone with the Yale Jazz Ensemble, or trying to fool people into believing a made-up fact just because he thinks it’s silly. His other hobbies include talking a lot AND riffing a lot, because what fun is life if you're just talking a lot? Jacob is always in for a good time and is so grateful Doox gives him a space for just that.
Fun Fact: Jacob used to have an alter ego named Mark Inaster.
Favorite Doox Memory: Sitting by the fire and playing the game, "when you know the words to the song, sing along, sing along" on Tap Night!
Recent Songs on Repeat: Us by Gracie Abrams (feat. Taylor Swift), Slow Dance by Joseph, The Greatest by Billie Eilish, Guilty as Sin by Taylor Swift, Favorite Crime by Olivia Rodrigo
This summer: Jacob spent his summer relaxing with his family and boyfriend in New Hampshire, as well as commuting to Boston to intern for the Massachusetts Treasury.

Peighton Lotwis
Baldwin, NY | Hopper '26 | she/her
Peighton is a Tenor 1 from New York majoring in Ethics, Politics, and Economics (EP&E). She is an all-around music lover, singing with the Yale Glee Club, Operatic Theater of Yale College, and Yale Chamber Singers when she is not rehearsing with Da Doox. In her free time, you can find her connecting to nature, strolling through local parks and reserves, or perhaps, taking her hand at gardening. She also enjoys a good pair of earrings or funky socks (because good things come in pairs, and on occasion, triumvirates.)
Fun Fact: After a lifetime of giving her friends free haircuts, Peighton found out that her great great grandmother's maiden name was Barbiere, meaning "Barber" in Italian.
Favorite Doox Memory: Exploring beautiful riverside cities in Ireland while on tour with Doox last summer (where she and her groupmates also famously befriended a goat named Joni.
Recent Songs on Repeat: Shine by Cleo Sol, Through it All by Lady Wray, and Masterpiece by SAULT
This Summer: Peighton worked on the Yale Farm as a Lazarus Fellow.
-
Anika Mohapatra
Bangalore, India | Murray '27 | she/her
Anika is a second year who oscillates between saying her major is Neuroscience and Comparatie Literature every two days. When she's not singing Tenor 1 in Doox, she's sketching out on cross campus, or crocheting in the Beanjamin, or curled up with a good (heart-wrenching, soul crushing) book in silent company of her friends. If you've ever seen her walking around campus and waved and had her not wave back, remember that she's a little unobservant and it's actually near impossible to catch her attention unless you're two feet away from her. Anika's favorite reptiles are dragons (duh) and you can probably tell she was obsessed with cryptids and mythological beasts as a kid.
Fun Fact: Anika doesn't have a driving license (and not just because she's currently in a country where you drive on the wrong side of the road).
Favorite Doox Memory: Being at the 70th Doox reunion was life changing (especially seeing Helplessness Blues).
Recent Songs on Repeat: Falling Behind- Laufey, Get Used to It- Ricky Montgomery, Seaforth- King Krule
This Summer: This summer, Anika got a driver's license, did an internship, and got a tattoo. You know, the usual.

Quincy Rosenzweig
Palo Alto, CA | Morse '26 | he/him
Quincy is indecisive to a fault. His major? …unsure. His favorite song? Too many to pick! But at least he knows what he’s doing on Thursday at 5:40pm. A gcal enthusiast and lover of spreadsheets, when not singing baritone for Doox, Quincy spends his time rock climbing and locked away in the private rooms in the Bass lower level (yes, that’s his favorite place to work). While waiting for the casting director to read his Survivor application, Quincy has led a number of Survivor games, an Amazing Race, and lots of puzzle hunts. Have a logic puzzle? Send it to him and you’ll be his new favorite person. Oh and if you mention theatre to him, be warned, you’ll never hear the end of it.
Fun Fact: Quincy can ride the unicycle and juggle, but not at the same time (yet).
Favorite Doox Memory: Sitting around our host Catherine's massive dinner table in Southern France, feasting on a huge spread of meats, cheeses and bread, drinking too much wine and serenading her with her favorite songs.
Recent Songs on Repeat: All things Chappell Roan
This Summer: Quincy has been exercising a lot! Going to the gym, climbing, pickleball, orienteering, hopefully pole vaulting soon. Quincy also traveled to NYC, New Haven, Chicago, LA and Lake Tahoe. He's been finishing up the album and doing a bunch of other Doox stuff lol, and he has been working as an Engineering/Product intern at OpenTrade
-
Andrew Xu
Cheshire, CT | Saybrook '27 | he/him
BUSINESS MANAGER
Andrew is a Computer Science and Mathematics major (don't ask him what it was last year). Outside of singing bass for Doox, he also sings tenor 2 for the Yale Glee Club, and constantly annoys his suitemates. As a math major, he spends most of his time doing homework. He is also doing research in a ML lab, part-time SWE work, and is a ULA.
Fun Fact: Andrew tried to blonde last year (you are seeing the aftereffects)
Favorite Doox Memory: Driving from New Mexico to see the Colorado Sand Dunes at 4am.
Recent Songs on Repeat: Short n' Sweet, brat, Chappell Roan, basically everything that came out this summer.
This Summer: Andrew got a bit lost this summer. He was originally doing research in New Haven but found himself in 10 different countries instead.
-
Daniel Zhang
Edison, NJ | Branford '26 | he/him
Daniel is an Atticus apologist, recovering Letterboxd user, and is really chill about listening to Adrianne Lenker. Daniel is allegedly a Classics major but has never been seen outside a 20th century intellectual history class. At Yale, he leads tours at the Yale University Art Gallery, researches for the Yale Center for British Art, and edits for the Yale Literary Magazine. He has big dreams like racking up followers on CourseTable, organizing Doox Tour via hot air balloon, and spinning Quincy Rosenzweig's hair into gold.
Fun Fact: Daniel has the cilantro-as-soap gene but is trying exposure therapy.
Favorite Doox Memory: Face card on the bus to La Jolla.
Recent Songs on Repeat: Now You Know by Anais Mitchell, I Shall Be Released covered by Nina Simone, Myth by Beach House.
This Summer: Daniel was researching classical reception in London and Paris and teaching political theory and literature to New Haven Public School students!
-
Krishna Davis
Chicago, IL | Hopper '25+1 | he/him
Krishna is a Political Science major who probably does not actually want to go into politics. He needed another year to decide, so now he's taking a gap year to sing with the Whiffenpoofs. Krishna is a huge fan of the honey lavender latte at Poindexter (the cute little cafe in the Graduate Hotel) and went there to study (wink) an embarrassing number of times last spring. When he's not snapping and singing doos and dahs with Doox, he enjoys writing for campus publications (doing more of this is a major goal for this year, let's keep him accountable), working with New Haven public high school students through Citizens Thinkers Writers, and taking photos of Yale buildings that he already has many photos of (when the light is good, it's irresistible).
Fun Fact: Krishna is an aspiring latte artist (emphasis on aspiring)!
Favorite Doox Memory: I was so incredibly proud to be a Doox when we sang at the Ruby Sessions in Dublin.
Recent Songs on Repeat: Mess by Noah Kahan, I'm Just Ken (we all know who sings that), Buzz Me In by Remi Wolf, Smoothie Song by Nickel Creek, Saturday by Couch
-
Caroline Fai
Newton, MA | Saybrook '25+1 | she/her
Caroline is studying Cognitive Science and Data Science, but is, as Daniel likes to say, "a closeted Humanities major." Sometimes she's singing Tenor 1.5 for Doox -- other times, she's working with mice in a Psychiatry lab, tutoring with Urban Improvement Corps, writing poetry with Jooksongs, or organizing events with the Chinese American Students Association. If hedgehogs were reptiles, her favorite reptile would be a hedgehog. She gets frustrated by exceptions in English and sometimes creates her own conjugation systems to remedy these frustrations. One hope she has for the world is the creation of more sub-200-page books. She also plans on someday petitioning for more than 24 hours in a day, even though that would not be scientifically reasonable. In the meantime, she decided that a gap year with the Whiffenpoofs will have to do.
Fun Fact: She has read 52% of the 340 books in her room, but didn't make it past the first chapter of the first Harry Potter book.
Favorite Doox Memory: Tapping last year's babies! I cannot wait to reproduce again (or would it be re-re-reproduce).
Recent Songs on Repeat: Hat Shaped Hat by Ani DiFranco, MARO's entire hortelã album, Nan Fon Bwa by Leyla McCalla, and Pterodactyl by Bendigo Fletcher
-
Jason Han
Birmingham, AL | Murray '25+1 | he/him
Jason Han is a Student on Leave currently singing Bass in the Whiffenpoofs. At Yale, he majors in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, but enjoys learning about all disciplines. In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, playing board/card games, and practicing the piano. He's also trying to get into cooking and reading.
Fun Fact: The U.S. is currently in the process of issuing a new $10 bill.
Favorite Doox Memory: Tap Night Last Year, just awesome getting to finally celebrate all our hard work and get to meet/interact with all our new members.
Recent Songs on Repeat: Older by Lizzie McAlpine, Kaleidoscope by Chappell Roan, Before I Knew You by Ben Platt, I Do by Renee Rapp.
This Summer: Jason has been providing Liquidity as a Quant Trading intern at Chicago Trading Company.
-
Hope Keithahn
Columbia, MO | Berkeley '25 | she/her
Hope is sad to be a Senior and crust over but is incredibly excited to introduce the new babies to all of the crazy traditions ;) You can find her going antique shopping to fill her apartment with unnecessary trinkets, crafting a stellar matcha latte, hosting Doox hangouts in her well-decorated apartment, waiting for Caroline, Jason, Charlie, and Krishna to return from Whiffenpoof tour, and searching for post-grad jobs.
Fun Fact: I belong to Missouri's Most Musical Family of 2013 lol
Favorite Doox Memory: During the Harvard-Yale game my first year, a bunch of Doox and Duke's Men alumni were in town and one alum hosted ~20 alumni and Doox at his place for dinner. We watched old videos of the group, sang together, and ate delicious food. It really felt like I was being welcomed into generations of a loving family and I knew this was the place I needed to be.
Recent Songs on Repeat: Cool People by Chloe x Halle; Always, Joni by Trousdale; and Isn't It Nice by ARCHER JOY FRODYMA DOOX ALUM
This Summer: Hope was an intern at University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. She also visited Doox a lot and explored Philly.
-
Albert Gang
Irvine, CA | Hopper '24, YSM '25 | he/him
"She doesn't even go here" - Mean Girls
Albert is a chemistry and music major who after graduation might do chemistry or music or both or neither! Who knows. When he's not singing in Doox, Albert plays violin in YSO and does chemistry research on carbon dioxide reduction. And if you don't find him doing any of those, he might be eating at House of Naan or Mecha.
Fun Fact: Albert occasionally pours the milk before the cereal.
Favorite Doox Memory: Impromptu brunches / fvfs!!!!
Recent Songs on Repeat: Rina Sawayama, NewJeans, Fleet foxes
-
Clay Jamieson
Severna Park, MD | Hopper '24 + 1 | he/him
Clay has worn many hats during his long (some say too-long) tenure at Yale: resident Doox old man, touring Whiffenpoof, wildland firefighter in eastern Oregon, and now a Grace Hopper first-year counselor! Clay can be found going on runs to East Rock, playing the piano in the Grace Hopper common room, and writing esoteric and useless research papers in the stacks.
Fun Fact: Clay is perhaps the most dangerous chainsaw operator on his entire fire district, and not in a good way!
Favorite Doox Memory: Climbing up to a rooftop in Manhattan at an afterparty with the active group and alumni after all singing together for the first time out of COVID for a fancy NYC gig.
Recent Songs on Repeat: New York by The Kills; Don't Think Twice, It's All Right by Bob Dylan; "Tristan und Isolde - Concert Version: Liebestod" by Richard Wagner, performed by the Berliner Philharmoniker, conducted by Karajan
This Summer: Clay spent the summer traveling and performing internationally with fellow Whiffendoox Ethan and Gabby. Clay's favorite stops were Cape Town, Dubrovnik, and Rio de Janeiro!
-
Charlie Karner
Elgin, IL | Morse '25+1 | he/him
Charlie spends a lot of time thinking and writing. He wants to start reading more + creating more during his gap year with the Whiffs. Charlie doesn’t know what else to say about himself right now. Bio in progress… Feel free to ask him how the progress is going in person… #evolving #changing #yay
Fun Fact: Charlie likes to lay on the ground outside. Second fun fact: this was his fun fact last year too.
Favorite Doox Memory: Driving back to Paris from the South of France, Eiffel Tower time, the Doox mega-bed — France portion of summer tour in general tbh! <3
Recent Music on Repeat: Next 2 U by Kehlani, Pluto by Raveena, Love Me Not by Ravyn Lenae!
This Summer: Charlie participated in the Spanish L3/L4 study abroad program in New Haven (where he lived with some Doox members!) & Bilbao (where he did not live with some Doox members!). Afterwards, he recharged + worked at a breakfast restaurant while spending time with his family & his dog, Murphy.

Ethan Kopf
Newton, MA | Pierson '24+1 | he/him
Ethan has seriously considered learning a British accent to allow him to audition for the Great British Bake Off (he's still waiting to hear back from Survivor and the Amazing Race). Every now and then he thinks he'll become one of those people with a cool exercise hobby like boxing or rock climbing, but as of now he is still searching for his calling. His favorite reference book is an atlas because of the pictures.
Fun Fact: Spicy food gives Ethan the hiccups.
Favorite Doox Memory: Performing at a bar on the bank of the Missouri river
Recent Songs on Repeat: Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter ;)
This Summer: Ethan traveled the world - truly, all six inhabited continents - with the Yale Whiffenpoofs. After seven years of singing a cappella, I finally emceed my first show. It was in Portuguese, a language that I don't speak, so the jury's still out on if anyone understood anything. In between all of the shows, I got the chance to do some of the most amazing hikes of my life, most memorably in Brazil, South Africa, and New Zealand. I had a piña colada in each of the six continents we went to. Ask me how they stack up.

Gabby Montuori
Dorchester, SC | TD '24+1 | he/they
